This drops the Pancake style direct drive motor in favor of traditional brushless outrunner design.

We have Xnova 2820-920kv, 3215-945KV, 3220-950KV, Egodrift 3220HS-960KV, XDfly 65a/85a, Hobbywing Platinum 60a / 80a in stock to pair with this helicopter. Heavy 3D or Hot Temperature Climates please use 80a ESC.

In addition FrSky M5253H, OMG Sonic, GDW G20, DS298, KST X12-508, THETA THS921A / THS921B Micro Cyclic Servos, and KST DS565, THETA THM982, GDW DS595 Mini Tail Servos or GDW DS295, FrSky M5251H Micro Tail Servo. 

This pairs nicely with Ikon2 Flybarless Controller or a Rotorflight Flydragon F722 v2.2, Matek G474, Flywing Heli405 module, or Rotorflight Nexus!

SAB introduced the Direct Drive on this class of helicopter and as you may know, we sold more than 2500 KITS.

However, in pursuit of improving performance, we determined that the Direct Drive could no longer be the correct solution. The evolution of the RAW 420 will use a motor belt drive.

This is how the RAW 420 Competition was born. Lighter, faster, more flexible in the selection of the desired head speed at a higher performance level.
