Egodrift Tengu 4730EC Eclipse Helicopter Motor

Power your 700 class RC helicopter with the Egodrift Tengu 4730EC Eclipse brushless motor. Available in 540Kv and 570Kv, both versions offered here feature a 6 × 35 mm external shaft.

Built around Egodrift’s custom 47 mm stator with 0.1 mm laminations, the 4730EC Eclipse features a reinforced 8 mm internal shaft and larger bearings. Egodrift designed this generation to reduce eddy-current losses and improve torque delivery, throttle response, and efficiency.

Choose Your Motor Kv

  • 540Kv — EGO-11973: The lower-speed winding for builds targeting a lower head speed with the same battery voltage and gearing.
  • 570Kv — EGO-11992: Approximately 5.6% higher theoretical motor speed than 540Kv at the same voltage, providing additional speed range for higher head-speed targets.

Select Kv and pinion together to match your intended head speed while retaining governor headroom.

Goosky RS7 Ultra — Stock Gearing

The RS7 Ultra uses a 116T main gear and standard 13T motor pinion, giving an 8.923:1 main reduction ratio.

  • 540Kv: Calculated head speed of approximately 2,210 RPM.
  • 570Kv: Calculated head speed of approximately 2,330 RPM.

With the stock gearing on 12S, 540Kv is our suggested starting choice for a target near 2,200 RPM. Choose 570Kv when targeting around 2,300 RPM.

XLPower Stratos 700 — With a 13T Pinion

Using the Stratos 700’s 125T main gear with a 13T motor pinion gives a 9.615:1 main reduction ratio.

  • 540Kv: Calculated head speed of approximately 2,050 RPM.
  • 570Kv: Calculated head speed of approximately 2,160 RPM.

With this gearing on 12S, 540Kv is our suggested starting choice for targets around 2,000 RPM. Choose 570Kv for additional speed range around 2,100–2,150 RPM.

Head-Speed Calculation Basis

The estimates above use 12S at 3.8V per cell and 80% ESC output, following Egodrift’s calculator guidance. These are calculated reference values, not guaranteed governed speeds. Actual results depend on battery voltage under load, ESC governor behavior, blades, and flight load.

Installation & Fitment

Before ordering, confirm clearance for the 58.4 mm motor body, mounting-hole alignment, and engagement of your pinion and any motor-shaft support bearing. Model-specific gearing recommendations do not replace checking the physical installation requirements of your helicopter.

What’s Included

  • One Tengu 4730EC Eclipse motor in your selected Kv with a 6 × 35 mm shaft
  • Three pairs of gold-plated Amass bullet connectors
  • Mounting screws — verify the correct length for your motor mount
  • Two Egodrift decal sheets
  • Individual Certificate of Authenticity

Motor & Gearing Setup Support

Compare motor Kv, battery cell count, main gear, pinion, and ESC output with Egodrift’s Headspeed Calculator. Use it to explore your target rotor speed before choosing a winding or changing gearing.

Egodrift recommends using 3.8V per cell and aiming for approximately 80% ESC output as a starting point, allowing room for governor regulation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Kv should I choose?
Choose based on your battery voltage, gearing, and target head speed. With identical gearing and voltage, 570Kv produces approximately 5.6% more theoretical motor speed than 540Kv.

Do both variants have the same shaft?
Yes. Both motor variants offered on this page have a 6 × 35 mm external shaft.

Is the internal shaft also 6 mm?
No. The reinforced internal shaft is 8 mm in diameter; the external pinion-mounting section is 6 mm.
